[UPDATED: MONDAY MAY 21ST 2012 @ 3:55 AM ET]

[SUMMARY]
There is a “Slight Risk” for Severe Thunderstorms across North and Central Georgia tonight and again Tuesday afternoon. Although the Storm Prediction Center has not placed us under a “Slight Risk” as of this posting, i believe that will be possible over the coming hours and even if not, i think that Severe Weather is possible in the Metro area over the next 24 to 48 hours.

A frontal system will be draped across the Southeast today and tommorow from southwest Alabama, across north-central Georgia into the Carolina’s. This will be the focal point for more numerous showers and thunderstorms, even moreso than we seen this weekend. A few of this storms could become Severe, producing large hail and damaging winds, along with dangerous cloud-to-ground lightining as the main threats.
