As i have been talking about since the weekend, Severe Thunderstorms are expected again today across much of Georgia. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of Georgia, except the northwest under a “Slight Risk” for Severe Thunderstorms today and tonight as a cold front moves into and across the state. The main threats will be Damaging Winds and Large Hail, much like the last several days, but today this weather will be more numerous.
DANGEROUS LIGHTINING : 90% : VERY HIGH
DAMAGING WINDS : 70% : HIGH
LARGE HAIL : 60% : HIGH
FLOODING : 30% : LOW
TORNADO : 20% : LOW
The best chance to see Severe Weather today will be from 2pm et to midnight from north to south, excluding extream northwest Georgia, including the Rome area. Although that area will see Strong thunderstorms today, they should remain below Severe limits and be more isolated.
