[UPDATED: 3:33 PM ET THURSDAY AUGUST 9TH 2012]
As i told you first on Tuesday, There is a “Slight Risk” of Severe Thunderstorms across Atlanta and North & Central GA Friday. A frontal system will move into and across the Southeast US Friday. Although some computer models indicate a few Super cells may develop Thursday to our north, i think the main threat here will be Damaging Winds and Large Hail. Heavy Rain will also be possible. Due to recent rains, Isolated local Flash Flooding will also be possible. The best chance for Severe Storms in the state will be in NE Georgia, however they could accure anywhere across the area.
DAMAGING WINDS : 70%
LARGE HAIL : 50%
FLOODING : 30%
TORNADO : 20%
LIGHTNING : 70%
The best time for Severe Thunderstorms in the Atlanta area will be from 10am to 4pm Friday and late afternoon evening in east Georgia
