There is a slight chance of Severe Thunderstorms today across the Southeast US. The Main Threat will be Damaging Winds up to 60 to 70 mph. However, Tornadoes will also be possible. (see image above)
The image above from the Storm Prediction Center in Norman OK that came out at 2am edt this morning shows chances for Tornadoes anywhere in the highlighted areas with the best chances across Northern AL, Northeast MS and Middle TN. However there is a slight risk for Tornadoes Sunday across Northwest GA as well, North & west of an Carrollton to Atlanta to Gainesville line.
The upper level disturbance causing Severe Weather today will be ongoing by late morning across portions of MS, Northern AL, & middle TN. The best chance for Severe Weather in NW GA will be between 3pm and Midnight et.
