(CHANNEL 1 ATLANTA) ATLANTA GA

The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded it’s Severe Weather Outlook for tonight and overnight hours to include most of North & West Central Georgia in a “Slight Risk” for Severe Thunderstorms. This area includes ALL of the metro Atlanta area!
The main threats will be Heavy Rains and Damaging Winds up to 60 mph, but a few Tornadoes can not be ruled out.
Already this evening, Tornado warnings were being issued for portions in central TN, and the SPC says they may issue a “Tornado Watch” soon for portions of TN, AL, GA. Although at time of this posting, no Tornado reports have been recieved, but this system is still developing as it moves across the Southeast US overnight.
The threat will continue Tuesday for portions of the Southeast and mid Atlantic states, mainly along the coast and will include portions of southern and eastern GA after daybreak.
