Good Monday evening! As of 6pm, here’s the latest in formation on our Christmas Day tornado/damaging wind event. Above is the general threat area map of Alabama for Christmas Day and Night. The highest risk of tornadoes and damaging winds will occur in an area near and south of Reform, Tuscaloosa and Clanton. In that area, there’s a higher risk of large tornadoes and significant wind damage. I want to stress that all of central and west Alabama is in a threat for tornadoes and damaging winds during the afternoon, evening and overnight hours on Christmas. The higher risk and larger number of tornadoes and damaging wind reports are expected to occur in the highlighted area above.
